Cartmell Pasternak & Associates, PC values and respects time away and strives for a good work/life balance for principals and all staff. The firm is flexible with working with staff on personal time away that comes up, but mutual respect and commitment to work from staff is anticipated when unexpected work emergencies arise.

  • Any tax position at Cartmell Pasternak & Associates requires overtime during tax season, Jan 15 – Apr 15. For staff, the work week hours start out at 50/week, growing to 55 hours/week mid Feb, then 60 hours/week mid Mar. A tax season bonus is paid, which is calculated based on overtime hours worked and productivity factors. This bonus is paid by June 1st.

    Generally, the firm offers summer hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day, where the standard workday is 8 ½ hours, M-Th, with 4 hours on Friday (off at noon on Fridays).

  • 80% paid health/dental/life insurance is provided for staff, a SIMPLE retirement plan, a Fitness Membership plan (50% paid by firm) and PTO starting at 3 weeks per year is provided.
